At OVG we rarely turn down a celebration, and when we found out that our very own Sara Bryan was getting married, we simply couldn’t resist throwing her a surprise hen do (with the boys dressed up as girls, of course).
We decided to really get into the spirit of things and wore a combination of hen party themed accessories from flowery bridesmaid crowns to masks of Sara’s face – we even threw in an inflatable sheep to represent Sara’s Welsh roots.
Psst, check out our amazing Snapchat filter we created especially for the event!
As Sara was in the office we were left wondering how we were going to pull this off. We decided that the best way to do this was for our MD and Co-Founder, Paul Yates to take her out of the room and distract her while the rest of us quickly set the scene.
From that moment, the countdown was on!
We had snacks to prep, prosecco to pour and the boys were putting on their finest frocks ready to surprise the hen (not the easiest thing to do when you’re not used to wearing a dress).
In the end it turned out to be a huge success. Sara had absolutely no idea what we were up to and she was doubly shocked to walk into the office to this…
It didn’t end there because once we’d celebrated with some bubbly (and the bridal march song playing triumphantly in the background) we took Sara to Trof in the Northern Quarter where we’d hired a room on the top floor.
Here we enjoyed a delicious buffet with wine and beer before playing some very questionable but funny party games. These included classics like passing the balloon between your legs and the cereal box game where only your feet could touch the ground. Surprisingly – and much to the girls’ disappointment – a lot of the boys did a little too well in this game.
Like all good celebrations, it had to come to an end, but we did walk away with great memories, good laughs and no doubt a few fragile heads the next morning.
Well done to Team OVG for pulling it out of the bag and giving Sara a hen party she truly deserves.
We hope you had a wonderful evening, Sara!
Love from your OVG family!!
