Recently the team at Online Ventures Group participated in the Many Hands campaign to help raise funds for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity. The campaign encouraged candidates to come up with exciting ways to raise money for the charity’s Helipad Appeal and WE were one of the finalists!
Back when the Many Hands campaign first began, we came up with an idea that involved hiring out our Directors to perform a series of tasks to the highest bidders (I mean, who doesn’t want to be driven around for the day or given free cocktails?).
We were excited to find out that we were chosen as one of four finalists, which meant we had to pitch our idea to a panel of judges including Dragon, Theo Paphitis at the Many Hands finale.
We may not have won but we did receive generous donations from recruitment company, We Are Adam, who bagged the office hula party, and Maunders School of Popular Music, who won the bid for a promotional video at their location.
Our other fundraising efforts towards the Helipad Appeal included a bake sale. As a team we each brought in tasty treats of the sweet and savory variety that were so good there was virtually nothing left by the end of the day.
We were so pleased with everyone’s contributions and it seems we have some competitive bakers in our office…
All in all, Team OVG did a fantastic job of taking on the Many Hands challenge to help raise money for such a worthy cause.
Office hula party at We Are Adam
With our inflatable limbo, blow up palm trees and cocktail ingredients, we made our way to the We Are Adam office ready to get our hula on – lays firmly around our necks!
Preparation was key so we made sure we left with enough time to blow the limbo up (easier said than done) and make a start on the cocktails, with freshly cut limes and strawberries (we don’t do things by halves at OVG).
To set the mood, we made a super cool beach themed playlist featuring golden oldies from the Vengaboys, classics from Bob Marley and feel good anthems from Katy Perry.
Now, a party isn’t a party without a bit of beer pong, so we quickly rallied the We Are Adam troops and began doubles. This went down very well with two of the boys winning three rounds – is this Olympian standards or what?
Here’s what some of the team had to say about the hula party:
Suzanne, ‘It’s not every day you get to throw an office hula party so we were thrilled when We Are Adam kindly donated. The whole process was fun from start to finish and I was really happy with everyone’s efforts. From our homemade cocktails to a few rounds of beer pong, it’s fair to say that OVG hula parties definitely go off in style.’
Leah, ‘I had great fun at the hula party, it was a good way to meet the team at We Are Adam and I was very impressed with their beer pong skills.’
Promotional video at Maunders School of Popular Music
When we realised that Maunders won the bid for the promotional video, we couldn’t wait to get stuck in and start filming.
Offering one-to-one lessons and workshops in guitar, drums, piano and singing, we knew that a promotional video was the perfect way to help highlight Maunders’ services.
We made our way to the North East of Manchester where we spent a full day shooting from various angles and capturing some truly great footage. We were able to feature different teachers and lessons that really represented the Maunders brand perfectly.
OVG’s Joe certainly got into the spirit of things…
Our Account Manager, Sam, attended the shoot and said, ‘we were ecstatic that one of our lovely clients, Maunders School of Popular Music, won the bid for a short promotional video.
‘We had a great afternoon at the music school which is a little hidden gem in the North of Manchester, and loved taking the time out to meet some of Neil’s talented students and teachers. We were able to see first hand the great classes and workshops that Maunders offers and we captured it all on the video. I’m so pleased with the final product.’
Below is the video we shot for Maunders along with some great snaps we got from both events.

Overall, we had a fantastic time fundraising for RMCH. If you want to donate to the Helipad Appeal to help support the charity’s aim to offer high quality treatment to more patients, you can do so by visiting the RMCH website.
