Earlier this year we launched our Liverpool Business Predictions report which consisted of opinions and thoughts from some of the city’s most influential business leaders. But, we didn’t want to stop there and so we are pleased to introduce our Birmingham and Lancashire editions.

We contacted some of the best and brightest minds in both areas to discover their views on what makes Birmingham and Lancashire so appealing for both start-up and well established companies.

But how did we do it?

We asked each candidate to answer the following four questions:

  • What are your predictions for business in Birmingham/Lancashire in 2017?
  • Which company will do great things in 2017?
  • What can businesses gain from being in Birmingham/Lancashire?
  • What does Birmingham/Lancashire mean to you?

We were lucky enough to receive responses from inspirational business leaders including Luke Massie and Steven Jackson OBE DL from Lancashire and Shelley Lloyd and Holly Plant from Birmingham, among many others from a range of industry sectors.

From both reports it was clear that the people of Birmingham and Lancashire really love where they live and work. Both areas were praised for having huge business potential and boast a range of other features such as picturesque views, trendy restaurants and good transport links both in and around the city regions.

The people of Birmingham truly believe their city is the ‘second city’, centrally located and with much to offer business owners. Equally, Lancastrians are extremely passionate about their region, explaining that you don’t have to live in and work in the capital city to benefit from business opportunities and that the humour and culture of Lancashire is infectious.

Paul Yates, our Operations Director said, ‘Following the Manchester and Liverpool reports, we felt that Birmingham and Lancashire editions were the most obvious next steps. I am thrilled with the responses we have received as it’s wonderful to hear so many people speak passionately about their city regions.

‘My team have done a fantastic job putting the reports together and I am proud that we have been able to highlight more areas across the UK where business is soaring.’
