We may be based in Manchester and think it’s a great place to be, but there are a tonnes of other fantastic cities that are simply jam-packed with business talent. In particular, our neighbours in Liverpool are upping their game to bring innovative new ideas to the industries in the city and developing the city-scape itself to house such thriving talent.
That’s why we decided to follow our 2016/17 Manchester Business Predictions with a Liverpool version.
We got in touch with some of the brightest minds in Liverpool from Downtown in Business and Albert Dock to the Hilton and many more.
Even the Mayor of Liverpool got involved and shared his own business insights.
The idea behind the report was to encourage business growth. We wanted to showcase Liverpool as an iconic and influential place for both established and start-up companies from the people who know their city best.
We asked each candidate to answer the following four questions:
- What are your predictions for business in Liverpool in 2017?
- Which company will do great things in 2017?
- What can businesses gain from being in Liverpool?
- What does Liverpool mean to you?
We received some fascinating responses from our contributors. Max Steinberg, Chief Executive at Liverpool Vision believes that Liverpool is ‘ambitious and forward thinking’ while dot-art’s Managing Director Lucy Byrne thinks ‘there is a great deal of passion and determination in Liverpool, which translates into an exciting, dynamic and generous place to do business.’
The general belief throughout the report was that Liverpool is a city where business opportunity is better than ever. People are fast getting onboard with either starting up a new business in the city or expanding their existing brands to a wider market. And, with so many amazing contributors coming from all kinds of industries, it’s little wonder that Liverpool is set to be a firm favourite for business minds in 2017.
Our Operations Director, Paul Yates had this to say:
‘We received such a positive response from the Manchester Business Predictions last year that it made sense to do another one. And with such a huge potential for growing businesses in the city at the moment, choosing Liverpool was a very easy decision to make.
‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of our contributors. It’s amazing to see the level of talent that Liverpool has to offer and of course my team at OVG for all their continued hard work during this process. It really makes these projects incredibly worthwhile.’
