The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity is on a mission to raise money to go towards their Helipad Appeal. With this in mind, we thought what better way to help out than by hosting a bake sale (because who doesn’t love cake?).

RMCH is one of the biggest hospitals in the UK providing high quality treatment to children in the North West and further afield. The purpose of the helipad is to offer fast access to the facility so that more patients have the best possible chance to receive specialist treatment.

Our Co-Director – and ambassador for RMCH – Paul Yates and the rest of the team at OVG put our skills to the test last week and brought in a range of tasty homemade snacks. From cakes to pastries and everything in between, it’s safe to say that everyone made a huge effort to ensure the day was a triumphant success.

In total we raised an amazing £167.82 for the charity and are thrilled that so many people donated generously to such a great cause.

Below you can see a few snaps from the day and what some of the OVG team had to say about it.

‘I had a really enjoyable time selling cakes to such happy people for a good cause.’ – Joe

‘It was really inspiring to see how generous so many people are. There were several people who donated without taking any cake at all.’ – Hannah

‘Who can say no to a bake sale?! We were delighted at people’s generosity, with some people paying a fiver for one flapjack! It was fantastic to be able to raise money for RMCH Charity whilst also getting to know people within our office building.’ – Olwen

‘It was a great day where the whole office came together and helped out. Money was raised and cake was eaten – what else could you ask for?’ – Dane

‘As we work closely with RMCH Charity we jumped at the opportunity to get our hands dirty and bake some treats for this fantastic cause. It was a great day and a lovely opportunity to meet people from some of the other businesses in our building. Plus – my cakes were the second batch to sell out so I was very proud!’ – Sam

‘Baking is right up my street so you can imagine how excited I was when I heard that we were putting on a cake sale for RMCHC. I made a delicious Nutella cake which seemed a big hit as every slice was sold. I am really happy I was able to be a part of such a brilliant day and I am thrilled to bits with the total we raised. Job well done for the OVG team!’ – Suze

Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for our participation in the Big Charity Drive in September where we’ll be continuing our fundraising efforts for RMCHC.
