March saw the arrival of our brand new Business Development Manager, Scott Beale. Find out about his first week and how he settled into his new role as we welcomed Scott to the OVG family.
After a hectic two-week period following my interview, I was thrilled to be offered the role of Business Development Manager at OVG and made the relevant first steps needed to move to a new city – a city I had never been to before.
It all felt a bit daunting at first but as I began to get my head around the excitement of being the ‘new boy’, I couldn’t wait to make the move from Leeds to Manchester to start my new job.
Having joined OVG at the beginning of March, I enjoyed a very busy and informative first week. I met my Directors who welcomed me instantly and the entire team made me feel right at home (I think bringing in cookies was a smart move if I do say so myself).
As I have previous experience in a similar role, I was quite keen to hit the ground running. After a couple of days I had the opportunity to meet my first client who was interested in an SEO campaign, and I must admit, it was a pleasure to get back out there and speak to customers face-to-face.
Once I returned to the office, the team could not have been more helpful in assisting with creating an insight report and putting together the proposal, which I have high hopes for. It’s really refreshing to see how everyone works together at OVG and I look forward to getting involved in more projects in the future.
Treated like a human
On any occasion where I have had to speak to a member of the team, regardless of their position, they have spoken to me with respect, had a laugh with me and shown a genuine interest in what I am doing. Even to the point where they went out of their way to surprise me with a birthday card and present on my fifth day!
It has been a great first week. I am looking forward to getting to know the team better, working closely with them to develop my skills and knowledge and hopefully they will soon get used to my Scottish accent.
Thanks to everyone at OVG. I look forward to the future with a company that certainly invests in their staff.
Stay connected with Scott
